Thematic Program on

Stochastic Partial Differential Equations

Duration: 2 months

Academic Year: 2010 – 2011

The subject of the fourth thematic program is Stochastic Partial Differential Equations and has a duration of two months. In this thematic program we imbed the following one one-week-long workshop:

  • The ACMAC Workshop on Stochastic Partial Differential Equations
Stochastic PDE arise in several different contexts such as mesoscopic modeling of phase transition phenomena (nucleation, self-assembly and pattern formation or domain switching), interface and free boundary propagation in heterogeneous and disordered media. In this workshop we bring together experts in modeling, analysis and simulation of SPDE in both these directions. The workshop will be preceded by a mini-course in homogenization for deterministic and stochastic PDE and a short tutorial on the simulation of SDE and SPDE, all geared towards young researchers and students..

The workshop was held in the facilities of the center on June 13 – 17, 2011. A dedicated website for the workshop can be found here. The following scientists participated and gave a talk in the workshop:

    • Stella Brassesco, IVIC, Venezuela
